To Everything and Nothing, 2016
This project was a screen-printing collaboration between myself and Boston-based artist Ingrid Sanchez; an experiment in dialogue, involving the “meeting” of two distinct and personal visual vocabularies. We are each interested in finding and developing reductive forms that strive to be non-referential, but that hold meaning for us individually; that draw from each of our lifetimes of experience, and interests such as architecture and design. The origins of these forms are destroyed through the cumulative process of silkscreen mono-printing. As more information is layered, new forms emerge and the result is a new visual language. For both of us, this process leads to discovery and the outcome is never certain.
