Wall(s) consists of two walls in one, each created from folded, modular screen printed samples of specific moments of brick and concrete walls in the Mission Hill area of Boston. The intention was to activate and double the capacity of a normal wall by offering two different experiences, depending on the direction from which it is viewed. The shadows add a third order, in which new forms are created and superimposed, echoing the underlying system of modules and repetition. The slight variations between prints however, betray the superficiality of the implied surface, and conjure a favorite notion: that of the imperfect copy, a beautiful oxymoron.
